This course provides an overview of automation in the industry. The course also includes an introduction to automation equipment such as robots and sensors, DAQ systems and other automation components. The knowledge on Internet of Thing (IoT) also will be introduced.
By the end of the semester, students should be able to:
- Understand the production system, the automation principles and related technologies.
- Demonstrate various automation techniques currently used in industry and list components of an assembly process
- Understand the latest issues in factory automation
