Biochemistry is an important fundamental course in many science based programs i.e. for biotechnology, pharmacy, medicine and other allied science courses. Unlike other subjects, biochemistry does not undergo much changes over time. The preference on chapters covered for different field of study may vary for instances biotechnology students may need to understand the biochemical pathways of photosynthesis whereas not necessary for an allied science student. Studying biochemistry for examination may be challenging for some students due to the content of too many terms and pathways, integration of one pathway with another not yet learned, reaction steps and their relevant enzymes, regulation, enzymatic mechanism etc.

In the current offerings referred as stage 1, an overview of the most important facts been highlighted for each pathway concerning the metabolism of four macromolecules i.e. carbohydrate, lipid, protein and nucleic acid. Progressively more information expected to be added for the pathways within stage 2 and so on.
